Working closely with parents is very important to us as a school; together we both want what's best for you child. Good communication and the sharing of information are essential; we value your opinions and knowledge of your child, and we hope you feel able to raise any issue with us.
There are lots of ways in which you can keep in touch - home / school reading folders; KS2 Homework Books; as well as telephone calls and written messages. If you have information to share with the classteacher, after school is always better than first thing in the morning when the teacher is welcoming children as they arrive. If it can't wait, call in at the school office - staff will be happy to help and the headteacher is often available.
Above all... if in doubt, come and see us.
Parents' Consultation - Open Afternoons
Every other Thursday, teachers will be available after school until 4pm. So that you can come and look at your child's work and talk informally with the teacher, if more time is needed or you wish to raise a sensitive matter more privately, you can also arrange to meet at another time.
Open Evenings
In the Autumn and Spring terms there will be a normal Open Evening with designated appointment times. However this is normally for those parents who cannot make Thursdays after school - with fewer parents there should be more time to share information than the 10 minutes allocated in previous years.
"Evening Surgeries"
The Headteacher is available from 6.30 - 9.00pm on a number of dates throughout the year. This provides an alternative opportunity to discuss at length any issue parents may wish to raise. Please contact the school office to make an appointment.
